Editorial team & review process

Who produces this content
Articles on this site are produced by the SBZ Tax Editorial Team and edited by Maren Whitlock, who edits tax and small-business coverage for SBZ Tax. Every article is reviewed by the SBZ Tax team before publication.
Our credentials
SBZ Tax & Accounting is a California tax practice. Tax returns and tax advice are handled by a CTEC-registered tax preparer participating in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program. Our affiliated companies hold the licenses relevant to their work: Fast Financial (mortgage brokerage) operates under NMLS #2226871, and SBZ Real Estate operates under DRE #02189139.
How articles are reviewed
- Sourcing. Tax figures, thresholds and filing requirements are checked against the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board and other primary sources. We do not publish statistics we cannot trace to a source.
- Fact review. Every draft goes through a verification pass that checks figures, dates, form numbers, geography and claims about credentials before it reaches an editor.
- Team review. No tax or lending article is published without review by the SBZ Tax team.
- Corrections and updates. Articles show an updated date. When rules or figures change, we revise the article rather than leaving outdated guidance in place. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.
What our articles are not
Everything published here is general educational information, not tax, legal or financial advice for your situation, and reading it does not create a client relationship. Tax rules change and apply differently to different taxpayers. Talk to a qualified professional about your specific circumstances before acting.
